Barbara Jeanne Roberts, 64 returned to her heavenly home on her birthday, April 12, 2020. Barbara’s final days were spent at her home, surrounded by family and passed peacefully with her husband at her side. Her devotion to family and a strong faith in God provided her with strength, courage and comfort.
Barbara was born in Philadelphia, PA on April 12, 1956. She graduated from Upper Moreland High School in 1974. In 1978, Barbara received duel undergraduate degrees in Elementary Education and Special Education from Millersville University. Barbara worked as a special education teacher for Bucks County Intermediate Unit # 22 for over 30 years. She advanced herself by receiving a Masters in Education from Arcadia University. Barbara’s passion for learning continued by earning a Reading Specialist certification. She took immense joy in making a difference in the lives of her students and did so until her retirement in 2014. She was a self-described "life-long learner" and encouraged all to do the same.
Barbara married her friend and colleague, James E. Roberts, on December 12, 1990 in Doylestown, PA. She was blessed with three daughters and two step sons. She shared her passion for learning with her children and taught them to have grace in the Christian faith. Her greatest pleasure was spending time with those she loved, especially gardening with her three daughters and grandchildren. She enjoyed many trips to Townsend’s Inlet and Sea Isle City, NJ. She also enjoyed vacationing on Cape Cod. Barbara cherished all of life’s moments to the fullest, with a smile and sparkling eyes. She is dearly missed by her loved ones, who celebrate her life of unwavering love, genuine selflessness and compassion.
Barbara is survived by her husband, James; her daughters, Kelli Yandolino, Amy Presti and Lauren Widener; her step sons Jeff Roberts and John Roberts; four grandchildren Anna Widener, Ryan Yandolino, Ethan Widener and Bohannon Presti; her parents George Miller (Maureen) and Evelyn O’Brien (Joseph) and her brothers, George Miller and Don Miller. She is preceded in death by a grandson, Bradley Presti, and her sister, Lynne Allen.
