Ann Marie Merkel-Kramer

Ann Marie Merkel-Kramer, Perkasie, passed away peacefully in her sleep on August 20, 2018, while surrounded by family and many dear and dedicated close friends. She was 80.

Ann was born on December 15, 1937 and was the first child of the late Walter and Eleanor Miller. Ann’s parents had three other children, Robert, Sharon and Gary. She grew up mainly in Bucks County and attended New Hope Solebury High School.

Ann was married to Edward Merkel in 1956 and they had five children together, John, Barbara, Sharon, Edward and Anthony. Ann and Edward later divorced.

Ann met Norman Kramer who became the love of her life, and they were married in 1991, and spent many years cherishing each other's company until Norman’s death in 2011.

In recent years Ann lived with her daughter and her son in law in Perkasie. She enjoyed figuring out cross word puzzles and the company of close friends.

Ann was preceded in death by her husband Norman, her daughter Sharon Merkel, and her sister Sharon Dumay.

Ann is survived by her daughter Barbara Ann Kiker (John), her granddaughter Michelle Anne Kiker, her sons John Allen Merkel, Edward Nicholas Merkel, and Anthony Arthur Merkel (Han Sun). She is also survived by her brothers Robert Miller (Harriet) and Gary Miller (Margaret), their children and grandchildren.

Ann’s life was greatly enhanced by the friendship, support, care, compassion and love of Patricia Eagen, Jamie Pakenas, Jodie Morris and their families as well as Dr. Joseph T. Candelore, whom she adored.

No service has been planned at this time, but the family intends on having a remembrance ceremony in the near future.
